Bower never ended up wearing this mask made by Higgins. Bower played the majority of his career without a mask. Bower was a two-time Vezina Trophy winner who helped the Toronto Maple Leafs win their last Stanley Cup championship in 1967.

Below is one of the best days in my Life Time. The day with Johnny Bower, signing my original northlands goalie stick and lunch with the legend - PRICELESS.

What a fabulous person, the stories he told were incredible. He signed with the Leafs for $6000.00 a year and Armstrong was furious at him. He used the back door to get out of Imache office so Armstrong couldn't see him.

Sadly Johnny Bower passed away at the age of 93 in 2017. The most celebrated Maple Leaf player of all time. This legend will not be forgotten.

His first mask, that Lefty made,  he said was not very good and after one game he came into the dressing room and tossed it in the garbage.
